✪ Award-winning short film by Rostyk Makushak

Rostyk Makushak’s debut «Para Normal» is a winner of TVO Short Doc Contest 2015, a winner of Bluenose-Ability Film Festival (BAFF), Canada’s first film festival focused on disability. Also «Para Normal» was the only Canadian film to be featured at the United Nations HQ in New York during UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities as a top selection of UN Enable Film Festival (UNEFF). Also this film was presented in Cannes, France at Festival International Entr’2 Marches in 2016 as festival’s official selection.…

Synopsis: We consider many things “normal” and take them for granted – like being able to use the computer, making friends or growing vegetables in the backyard. For some it might not be as easy.

This film introduces three adults with developmental disabilities, Core Members of L’Arche Ottawa community, telling a story of their learning experience as they share their lives in a group home. Despite their challenges they continue to learn new things every day. All they live is a “normal” life.
