From 16 August 2018, the open-air stage at the Mercedes-Benz Museum will again be transformed into a cinema: between then and 2 September, the Open-Air Cinema will host a total of 16 screenings of various genres and formats. Tickets, each costing nine euros, go on sale on 10 July 2018 both online at www.mercedes-benz.com/open-air-kino and at the museum box office. All screenings will start at around 9 pm.
Stuttgart. Comedy and drama, outdoor film and science fiction: the Open-Air Cinema at the Mercedes-Benz Museum will once again in 2018 offer a varied programme of films for every taste. This is the twelfth season of popular cinematic enjoyment under the stars in front of the fascinating setting provided by the Museum.
The 2018 programme kicks off with the German comedy “Fack ju Göhte 3” on 16 August. After three weeks of cinema, the final screening on 2 September will be the film musical “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again”. In between, a varied selection of films will be shown on the big screen at the Museum.
The genres include animated films (“Hotel Transylvania 3 – A Monster Vacation”, 25 August) and action movies (“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”, 19 August). The line-up also offers regional cinema (“Laible und Frisch: Do goht dr Doig”, 18 August), science fiction (“Solo: A Star Wars Story”, 30 August), drama (“Wonder”, 29 August), a political thriller about the time of the Vietnam war (“The Post”, 21 August), contemporary history (“Darkest Hour”, 31 August) and others. The programme for 2018 will again feature the “European Outdoor Film Tour”: the best outdoor and adventure films from the festival will be screened on 22 August. A new addition to the programme, due to the outstanding success of the European Outdoor Film Tour in recent years, is the Ocean Film Tour on 28 August with the best water sport films.
Tickets for Open-Air Cinema 2018 cost nine euros per person. They go on sale on 10 July 2018 both online at www.mercedes-benz.com/open-air-kino and at the museum box office. Tickets for the Open-Air Cinema have always sold out quickly in past years. So if you want to be sure not to miss seeing your favourite film, you have to act fast. All screenings begin at around 9 pm.
