What depression actually is, because it’s more than ‘just being sad’.

from Omeleto

Submerged in the darkness of her depression, Katie struggles to stay afloat the rough waters in her life, but uncovers what matters most in her journey to recovery.

Depression isn’t the sad person in the room. In fact, depression is sometimes the person you least expect. Often, it’s the person trying to convince you they’re happy, because they’re trying to convince themselves as well.

Depression isn’t the person screaming out for help. It’s often the silent soul quietly trying to understand themselves.

Depression is trying to hide it. Depression is tears no one sees. Depression is sleepless nights. Depression is wanting and needing to be around people, but also pushing them away.

Depression is the constant unbalance of things in your life.

But more than that, depression is strength because nothing is tougher than overcoming the demons within yourself.

But through it all, depression is having an appreciation and gratitude for life, knowing that no matter how rough waters get, things will be better.
